Sherrill has exhibited in New York City at The National Arts Club with the Allied Artists of America, the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, the Salmagundi Club, and the American Artists Professional League. She also has shown in Greater Boston at the Copley Society of Art, the Academic Artists Association, the Rockport Art Association & Museum, the North Shore Arts Association, and the Harvard Club with The Guild of Boston Artists.
Sherrill is a member of the North Shore Arts Association in Gloucester, Massachusetts, the Rockport Art Association & Museum in Rockport, Massachusetts, the American Artists Professional League in New York City, and the Portrait Society of America. She is also an associate member of The Guild of Boston Artists and the Allied Artists of America. Her work has received awards from both the Rockport Art Association & Museum and the Copley Society of Art.
Sherrill began her initial formal training in figure and line drawing from John Jagel at the University of New Hampshire, from where she holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She also completed several courses in drawing and painting at the Rhode Island School of Design.
She later studied at the Paul Ingbretson Studio for Drawing and Painting in the Boston School Tradition for five years; drawing and painting from life. During the summer of those five years, she traveled to Cape Ann to study plein-air painting with artist/teacher David Curtis - who is also of the Boston School Tradition.
Sherrill’s paintings hang in private collections in the United States and Europe, and her murals commissioned by Legal Sea Foods currently hang in the restaurant’s Copley Place location for all patrons to enjoy. She is listed in Who’s Who of American Women.
